Located in the heart of Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula, we welcome members and visitors alike.
Founded in 1919, we have a long tradition as a local hub for celebrations, commemorations and community support.
We are home to the renowned Tom Katz live music venue as well as the fabulous Sorrento Thai Restaurant. In summer we welcome The Kitchen Sorrento pop-up to expand our meals offering.
Like Sorrento and Portsea, Jack’s Bar & Lounge and The Terrace are cool in summer and warm in winter and are great spaces for an event or a casual drink with friends in a relaxed environment.
Sorrento Portsea RSL is proudly community-based, volunteer-run and not for profit. There are no gaming machines - our club is fully supported by the hard work of our people and the generosity of our members and visitors.

Now that things are settling down after those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days Of Summer, Sorrento returns to its relaxed "normal" mode.
And so do we at Sorrento Portsea RSL.
The Kitchen pop-up will return later in the year with its Aussie pub food classics under our roof.
Meanwhile, the beloved Sorrento Thai restaurant continues to serve excellent Thai cuisine - dine in and takeaway after 5pm Thursday thru Sundays. Click the logo below to see their menu.
Sorrento Thai restaurant is an authentic, quality, dining experience. Parada and her team operate under our roof and have served their delicious Thai food to both dine-in and takeaway guests for several years now. Time flies.

FRIDAY members' night madness
FRIDAY NIGHT IS FUN NIGHT AT YOUR LOCAL.
Our Members' nights are becoming THE thing to do on a Friday night in Sorrento, with numbers approaching 100 on recent nights.
Happy Hour is from 4.30 to 6.30pm.
Eileen's raffle and hilarious jokes are the highlight of our week.
It can get a little rowdy, but it's always fun.

Another drawcard is our famous Members Draw which has jackpotted to around $1000!! All you have to do to win is be there and be a financial member. Money for jam. Can you afford not to be there?

FABULOUS FUNCTIONS AT YOUR LOCAL
Our continuing Big Build program at Sorrento Portsea RSL is nearing completion in time for Summer, with a new outdoor bar, BBQ space and food servery being built into the Terrace, our newly expanded beergarden.
Already, we've become a preferred venue for all sorts of local celebrations, functions and events in Sorrento.
We hosted several events during both the Sorrento Writers' Festival and Taste Sorrento, as well as the local branch of the Liberal Party, Probus, and many other organisations.
We offer a number of options including catering through The Kitchen Sorrento, or Sorrento Thai. We also provide a full bar service at value prices.
And venue hire is free-of-charge to members!

ANZAC DAY 2024
MEMORIES AND REFLECTIONS
What an amazing day for our community to share!
An unforgetable Dawn Service took place on Sorrento front beach at the Soldiers' Memorial. Incredibly atmospheric. Extremely moving. A perfect commemoration and a great tribute to all who have served our country. And to those currently serving. We appreciate all you have sacrificed and all you have achieved for us.
The service was followed by the traditional gunfire breakfast at our RSL. Thank you to all who attended and especially to our fantastic volunteers who toiled from 4am and were still going strong well into the evening.
The traditional Anzac Day March and Ceremony followed at noon, again on the foreshore.
Special thanks to everyone who contributed: the excellent speakers, community and religious leaders, service people - past and present - the wreath layers, the superb Southern Peninsula Concert Band, our bugle player, singers, SPRSL officials and organisers. A wonderful snapshot of our community bringing their knowledge, experience and expertise to make the best possible start to the most important day on the calendar. We are blessed to have so many talented people in our community.
We are a volunteer-run RSL, devoted to supporting our local community. Again, our sincere thanks to those volunteers who made it happen again this year, and to all the members and visitors who came along and spent a dollar or two to help with our welfare and community programs.

SORRENTO PORTSEA RSL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Every year, we try to make a meaningful contribution to the education of the youngsters in our community through primary and secondary school scholarships.

“ARCHIES” ART COMPETITION
We live in a beautiful part of the world, full of talented people.
Last year's inaugural “Archie's” Art competition saw over 50 entries from our local schools and they were amazing.
Congratulations to all our entrants.
