Welcome

To Your Local

WHO WE ARE

Located in the heart of Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula, we welcome members and visitors alike.

Founded in 1919, we have a long tradition as a local hub for celebrations, commemorations and community support.

We are home to the renowned Tom Katz live music venue as well as the fabulous Sorrento Thai Restaurant and we are very excited to welcome The Kitchen Sorrento also, just in time for summer.

Like Sorrento and Portsea, Jack’s Bar & Lounge and The Terrace are cool in summer and warm in winter and are great spaces for an event or a casual drink with friends in a relaxed environment.

Sorrento Portsea RSL is proudly community-based, volunteer-run and not for profit. There are no gaming machines - our club is fully supported by the hard work of our people and the generosity of our members and visitors.

We are most grateful for your support which allows us to continue our good work.

YOU’RE ALWAYS WELCOME AT SORRENTO PORTSEA RSL

New Faces

We are excited to introduce The Kitchen Group to Sorrento Portsea RSL from Summer 2023/24. Their popular cafes and restaurants in Tootgarook, Rye and St Andrews Beach are local favourites.

The Kitchen Sorrento's fabulous bar food and full dining menus provide quality modern Australian lunch and dinner choices, and at great value prices.

Awesome news for our members and visitors, who can now enjoy a greater menu at The Kitchen Sorrento - or the wonderful Sorrento Thai, all under the one roof.

New Spaces

The secret's out! We have the best value meals, drinks and live music, in the most relaxed environment in Sorrento.

There is a lot going on. We're upgrading, rebranding and extending our premises. We hope you enjoy Jack's Bar & Lounge, and The Terrace, our relaxed indoor/outdoor area.

While you are here, check out our two dining options: The Kitchen Sorrento just opened within the RSL, and of course, the wonderful Sorrento Thai.

The Herberts

The Herberts are a band playing the best of sixties music, they could have been transported from playing a couple of streets away from the Beatles at the Cavern club or Carnaby street.  Featuring one of the best frontmen in Australia, The Herberts is a 60s concept band playing all the popular dance songs from 60s Britain. They wear the uniform of the era and not only sound great but look great as well. Their appeal is widespread as they have chosen songs that were not only hits in the 60s but have been re-covered by bands in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. These guys are great to listen to, awesome to dance to and funny and entertaining for those who just like to sit back and watch.

Over 35,000 homes were affected by these floods and many rural properties and the families who farm them, are still struggling to overcome the devastation of this disaster.
