Located in the heart of Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula, we welcome members

Founded in 1919, we have a long tradition as a local hub for celebrations, commemorations and community support.
We are home to the renowned Tom Katz live music venue as well as the fabulous Sorrento Thai Restaurant. In summer, we're providing excellent bar food to expand our meals offering, with thanks
to N'tice Catering.
Like Sorrento and Portsea, Jack’s Bar & Lounge and The Terrace are cool in summer and warm in winter and are great spaces for an event or a casual drink with friends in a relaxed environment.
Sorrento Portsea RSL is proudly community-based, volunteer-run and not for profit.
There are no gaming machines - our club is fully supported by the hard work of our people and the generosity of our members and visitors.

ANZAC DAY 2025
It's the most important day of our year.
Please join the local community for a day of Celebration and Commemoration.
Anzac Day commences at 6.00am on the Sorrento front beach foreshore at the Cenotaph.
It is an experience like no other.
The Service is followed by a free gun-fire breakfast at the Sorrento Portsea RSL.
Later, at 11.30am, the traditional Anzac Day march commences from the main flagpole in Ocean Beach Road and proceeds down the hill to the Cenotaph.
From noon, we welcome the whole local community and all visitors to the RSL for a family BBQ and live music.
You are most welcome to stay on for dinner at the Terrace at the RSL, to enjoy a new dinner menu by
N-Tice from 5pm. Or at Sorrento Thai restaurant also from 5pm.
It is a day not to be missed. And a great opportunity to recognise the commitment and the profound contribution made to this country by all those men and women who have served - and who are currently serving - on our behalf.

MARCH ON
Walk in the footsteps of our heroes
This March, walk or run 96km, symbolising the length of the Kokoda Track to honour the courage and sacrifice of our veterans and their families.
By marching on with us, you will support Soldier On's mental health services to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.
Together, we can show our brave heroes that they are not alone.

AWESOME AUSTRALIA DAY
THANK YOU FOR joinING US TO CELEBRATE AUSTRALIA DAY
AT THE PLACE WHERE AUSTRALIA DAY MEANS MORE.
We welcomed upwards of 500 people throughout the day - traditionally one of the biggest community days of our year. Click on the gallery, right, to see some of the action-packed day.
The day started with a brief flag-raising ceremony in our newly refurbished commemorative lawn. Craig Cooper kindly took on the role official role of flag-raiser, while Layla Van Niekerk performed our National Anthem brilliantly - a very talented and composed young lady. We enjoyed speeches by SPRSL President Peter Rimkevikus, Pam Rim, head of volunteers at SPRSL, and past council representative, Susan Bissinger. Thank you so much.
We'd also like to acknowledge local councillor Andrea Allen, and Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor, Anthony Marsh for including us in their busy schedule.
The challenge of feeding, watering and entertaining large numbers of members and visitors was well and truly met by our large team of volunteers and our bar staff. And met with flying colours. Our newly expanded Terrace beergarden and our newly commissioned Terrace Bar gave us so much more usable space to seat and serve our patrons.
Thanks also to N'tice for meals and bar food for the masses after the free BBQ.
First class live music from bands, Cruizin' and The Marty Rose Band kept people up and dancing through til 7pm. Awesome guys - thank you.

FUNDRAISER RAFFLE
THANK YOU, EVERYONE, FOR SUPPORTING SUCH AN IMPORTANT CAUSE.
Our important Veterans' Tribute Walk project on the RSL grounds is well and truly underway. We are so grateful that our vision can now take shape over the next year or so.
What is the vision? It's a series of inspirational and educational installations for visitors and school groups to appreciate the contributions and sacrifices made by Australian service people - past and present.
THANKS TO ALL THE TALENTED LOCAL INDIVIDUALS, PENINSULA-BASED COMPANIES, RETAILERS, TOURISM ESTABLISHMENTS, FOOD AND WINE PRODUCERS AND SUPPLIERS - THE FUNDRAISER RAFFLE WAS A SUCCESS. WE APPRECIATE YOU!
AND WE APPRECIATE ALL THOSE WHO PURCHASED TICKETS AND CONTRIBUTED TO THE SUCCESS OF THIS FUNDRAISER. AND TO OUR WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS WHO MADE IT HAPPEN.

Our Big Build program at Sorrento Portsea RSL is complete in time for Summer, with a new outdoor bar, BBQ space and food servery built into the Terrace, our newly expanded indoor/outdoor beergarden.
Already, we've become a preferred venue for all sorts of local celebrations, functions and events in Sorrento.
We hosted several events during both the Sorrento Writers' Festival and Taste Sorrento, as well as the local branch of the Liberal Party, Probus, and many other organisations.
We offer a number of options including catering through N'Tice Catering, or Sorrento Thai. We also provide a full bar service at value prices.
And venue hire is free-of-charge to members!

FRIDAY members' night madness
FRIDAY NIGHT IS FUN NIGHT AT YOUR LOCAL.
Our Members' nights are THE thing to do on a Friday night in Sorrento, with numbers approaching 100 on recent nights.
Happy Hour is from 4.30 to 6.30pm.
Eileen's raffle and hilarious jokes are the highlight of our week.
It can get a little rowdy, but it's always fun.
Of course, non-members are always welcome.
Another drawcard is our famous Members Draw which has now jackpotted to over $1400!! All you have to do to win is be there and be a financial member.
Money for jam. Can you afford not to be there when your number is drawn?
It's a good vibe. Come along and meet some people you'll like.
Stay for dinner at Sorrento Thai next door to make a complete night of it!

THE SECOND “Archie's” PORTRAIT competition DREW LOTS OF entries from our local schools.
The 2024 Archies Portrait Competition offered prizes for each category - Preschool, Primary and Secondary.

REMEMBRANCE DAY 2024
thank you to all those attending the service ON the SORRENTO FORESHORE on 11th November. AND TO THOSE WHO joined us back at the club rooms afterwards for light refreshments.
We were pleased to see so many attending on such a significant day.
Special thanks to local religious leaders, Rev Nicholas Wallace and
Fr Wijewickrama who led the service.
Thanks also to our wonderful volunteers who participated in the service (esp Peter and Thomas), and to those who helped with the refreshments afterwards (including Michael, Peter, Goldie, Chris, Chris, Simon, Pam and Margie). Apologies if we have left people out.
